As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. For example:
- We use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the Site. You can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Using Personal Information
We use your Personal Information to provide our services to you, which includes: offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfillment of your order, providing customer support, and, where you have asked us to, keeping you up to date on new products, services, and offers.
Lawful basis
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation ("UK GDPR") and the Data Protection Act 2018, and under the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") if you are a resident of the European Economic Area ("EEA"), we process your personal information under the following lawful bases:
- Your consent, for example when you subscribe to our marketing emails or agree to non-essential cookies;
- The performance of the contract between you and the Site, for example to fulfil an order you have placed;
- Compliance with our legal obligations, for example to keep the records required by tax law;
- To protect your vital interests;
- For our legitimate interests, which do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms, for example to prevent fraud and to keep our Site secure.
Our marketing emails are also governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 ("PECR"), as amended.
Email marketing
We send marketing emails only to people who have asked to receive them. We rely on your consent as our lawful basis for sending them.
You give that consent by entering your email address and submitting one of our sign-up forms, by opting in during checkout, or by opting in when you create an account. We do not add you to our marketing list on any other basis, and we do not buy or rent marketing lists.
Our marketing emails cover new builds, styling programmes, product launches, offers and events from House of Urban and Urban Automotive.
We use Klaviyo to manage and send these emails. Klaviyo acts as our processor and stores your email address, your marketing preferences, a record of when and where you subscribed, and how you interact with our emails.
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us at info@urban-automotive.co.uk to be removed from our list. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it, and it does not stop us sending you service messages relating to an order you have placed.
Retention
When you place an order through the Site, we will retain your Personal Information for our records unless and until you ask us to erase this information, and in any event for as long as we are required to keep it in order to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Where you have subscribed to our marketing emails, we keep your email address, your consent record and your marketing preferences for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record of your email address and the fact that you opted out, so that we do not contact you again.
For more information on your right of erasure, please see the 'Your rights' section below.
Automatic decision-making
If you are a resident of the UK or the EEA, you have the right to object to processing based solely on automated decision-making (which includes profiling), when that decision-making has a legal effect on you or otherwise significantly affects you.
We do not engage in fully automated decision-making that has a legal or otherwise significant effect using customer data.
Our processor Shopify uses limited automated decision-making to prevent fraud that does not have a legal or otherwise significant effect on you.
Services that include elements of automated decision-making include:
- Temporary denylist of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions. This denylist persists for a small number of hours.
- Temporary denylist of credit cards associated with denylisted IP addresses. This denylist persists for a small number of days.

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in the "Contact" section below.
You also have the right to ask us to stop using your personal information for direct marketing at any time, either through all channels or through selected channels. We will always comply with that request.
Your Personal Information will be initially processed in Ireland and then will be transferred outside of the United Kingdom and Europe for storage and further processing, including to Canada and the United States.
